Reverse Set And Link For 2 Couples

This is a rare, derivative version of Set and link for 2 couples in which the linking movement is anticlockwise rather than clockwise. Many dancers have difficulty enough with the linking direction in the basic Set and link for 2 couples and so this Figure requires especial attention. In detail, with two Dancers in the Starting line Facing a similar line:

Bars 1-2
Taking hands in the lines, all Set Facing the Dancers in the other line;

Bars 3-4
The Dancers at the right End of each line Dance In, Pulling left shoulder back, to Finish at the other End of the same line
While
the Dancers at the left End of each line Cast, Pulling left shoulder back, to Finish at the other End of the same line.

The Figure occurs in bars 17-20 of The Blackadder Jig, all Starting in the Sidelines and Finishing Facing In; it is helpfully preceded by the conventional Set and link for 2 couples in bars 9-12. It also occurs in Miss Catherine Ann in Mirror form where 1st and 2nd ladies Dance Set and link for 2 couples WHILE their Partners Dance Reverse set and link for 2 couples in bars 1-4 and similarly by 1st and 3rd couples in bars 9-12.
