In Scottish Country Dancing, Turn may be qualified by the amount of the Turning, by the hands given, by the Time allocation and by the step (Footwork) to be used; if not qualified, it means make a complete Turn by the right in two bars using the Travelling step appropriate to the Type of dance.Here are examples of those Scottish Country Dances for which we have instructions on this site and in which the term, Turn by the right, either appears explicitly or is implied; note that for a common term these will be a small selection; for a rare term, these may be all that exist:
