While this is no more than a combination of Set Facing Across The set followed by Cross individually to the Opposite Side, the Finishing Facing Directions of the Dancers are not always the same. Depending upon the succeeding Figure, they may be Facing In, as at the end of bar 4 of Jennifer's Jig for all 3 Couples or In for 1st and 3rd couples but Out for 2nd couple at the end of bar 8.Here are examples of those Scottish Country Dances for which we have instructions on this site and in which the term, Set and Cross, either appears explicitly or is implied; note that for a common term these will be a small selection; for a rare term, these may be all that exist:
